TOURISM OPERATORS

The Annapolis Valley has something for everyone:

  • Incredible scenery with some of the province’s best weather
  • Bay of Fundy
  • A growing wine industry
  • Agriculture: Agri-tourism, farms, fruit stands, and orchard experiences
  • Family-friendly experiences
  • History and culture
  • Nova Scotia’s only zoo
  • Outdoor activities: snowmobile trails, hiking trails, geo-caching, camping, and lakes
  • Incredible dining experiences thanks to our rich soils and abundant sea
  • Unique shopping destinations
  • And much more…

Tourism operators in Berwick and its surrounding areas are encouraged to peruse the following documents: Destination Development International Report, Bay of Fundy Report, and Tourism Toolkit documents. These reports describe best practices and trends currently facing the tourism industry, and contain helpful hints and tips.

Although the Destination Development International Report was written for the Eastern Kings region of the Annapolis Valley, it provides great insight into tourism best practices, trends, and makes suggestions for improvements. The lessons learned in this report can certainly be applied to Western Kings organizations. Destination Development International is led by Roger Brooks, a guru in the fields of branding, tourism, downtown development and marketing.

The Bay Of Fundy Report analyzes the opportunities that the Bay holds for Nova Scotia’s tourism industry. As you may know, the Bay of Fundy recently commanded much global attention as a final contender in the New 7 Wonders of Nature.

A Tourism Toolkit was developed by the Town of Berwick’s 2011 Tourism Coop Student, Rose Eddy. Rose studied Destination Development with the Nova Scotia Community College and came to us with great ideas. She met with many of our local tourism operators throughout the summer and provided them with a best practices toolkit, full of useful information:

  • Introduction Flyer
  • Experience Nova Scotia’s Free Marketing Information
  • Programs, Partnerships, and Funding
  • Tourism Web Links
  • Campground Information
  • Campground Select Criteria Information
