Councillor Anna Ashford-Morton

Anna Ashford MortonCouncillor Anna Ashford-Morton has served on Berwick Town Council for 16 years. She was born in Toronto, Ontario and raised in Cape Breton. Anna moved to Berwick in 1988.

Anna is a volunteer with the Berwick & District Gala Days Committee currently holding the position of co-treasurer for the fourth year. She has also volunteered with the Berwick United Church as a Sunday School coordinator and teacher, as well as for many of her children’s sports teams as they grew up.

Councillor Ashford-Morton studied in PEI, Halifax and Shelburne and her education includes a BACS with a double major in psychology and sociology as well as a Youth Worker Diploma.. Anna is now retired after 30 years with the Department of Justice as a Probation Officer.

Anna sits on the Audit and Admin Committee, Kings Transit (alternate), Valley Waste (alternate), Police Advisory Committee, Planning Advisory Committee and the Community Land Trust Committee.

Anna currently resides with her husband, Wade, in the Town of Berwick where they have three adult children, Mac, Rebecca and Catherine.
