Reporting to the Director of Finance, you will be the first stop at the Town Hall, demonstrating your passion and pride in the Town services, providing excellent service and support to residents, colleagues and all stakeholders that pass through our doors. Berwick is unique as we also have our own Electric Utility. You will prepare all communications for both the Town and the Electric Commission. Responsibilities include processing payments, booking facilities, and responding to general inquiries, preparing, and sharing communications both digitally and in paper form, maintaining website, and office administration support to various departments-just to name a few! Working Conditions requires the successful candidate to work on-site at the front counter located at Town Hall. You will be working in a high-paced, busy office, with strict deadlines for competing priorities. Most of your day will be spent at the front desk, with exceptions such as taking the mail for processing. Your normal work week is 35 hours per week, 7 hours/day from 8:30am to 4:30pm. You may be required to support meetings after hours on occasion and you will be provided with time in lieu for these events. Occasionally you may need to move or lift objects, such as boxes, files, etc.

What we’re looking for:

Qualifications:

Post-secondary education in office administration, business administration or related field.

Minimum of five years of post-graduate, related experience.

Exceptional time management skills; ability to prioritize tasks and successfully meet deadlines.

Proficient computer skills in software such as Microsoft 365, Canva and websites, with the ability to learn new programs with ease.

Exceptional customer service experience.

Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

Previous experience within a municipality.

Additional certifications or training in customer service, communications, or government administration.
