Part-time Crossing Guard

Employment Opportunity – 

The Town of Berwick is currently seeking a part-time Crossing Guard. 

Position Details:

Department: Public Works

Status: Part-Time, Non-Unionized Position

Wages: $18.50 per hour effective September 2026. The wage rate will increase in line with future increases to Nova Scotia’s minimum wage, maintaining a rate of $1.75 per hour above the current provincial minimum wage.

Start Date: Immediate

Position Overview:

We are seeking a dedicated Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of pedestrians, especially children, at designated crosswalks within the Town of Berwick. This role is vital in promoting safe travel for students and community members.

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills, attention to safety protocols, and the ability to manage traffic effectively.

Prior experience with safety standards such as OSHA, First Aid, CPR, and compliance management is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to serve the community while maintaining a safe environment for our future generation.
