The Town of Berwick is developing a Stormwater Management Plan, and we want to hear from you! This public engagement session is your chance to share areas in town affected by flooding due to heavy rain.
 
Join us to meet the engineering team leading the project, provide input on stormwater challenges, and help shape future improvements. Your feedback is essential in ensuring effective upgrades for a more resilient community.

Public Hearing

PUBLIC NOTICE:
Berwick Town Council will hold a Public Hearing concerning an amendment to the Land Use Bylaw for re-zoning of 106 Orchard Street (PID 55237994) from Residential Single Unit (R1) to Residential Two Unit (R2). Information about the proposed amendment can be obtained here.
The Public Hearing will be held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, beginning at 6:30 pm in the Council Chambers, 236 Commercial Street. If you are unable to attend the Public Hearing but want to make a written submission, please email or drop it off at Town Hall before 4:00 pm on the day of the Public Hearing.

The Town of Berwick is hiring youth ages 15-30 for a variety of summer jobs. If you’re energetic, enjoy working with people, and want to make an impact in your community, we want to hear from you.

We are hiring for:

  • Summer Day Camp
  • Recreation Intern
  • Parks Maintenance
  • Museum & Tourism

Job terms: Most positions are 9 weeks, while some are 12 weeks.
All positions are subject to budget and grant approval.

Berwick Gala Days

Berwick Gala Days is hiring! Berwick Gala Days is a Major Community Festival which has been held over the Labour Day weekend since 1946. The event has grown from a one-day event to a six -day festival. Except for the Student Coordinator, everyone involved with organizing and running the festival is a volunteer. One of the many unique aspects of Berwick Gala Days is all proceeds are distributed among youth organizations which have participated in the delivery of the festival.

Development Agreement to construct 120 residential units at Lot 1-AC Commercial Street, Berwick

TAKE NOTICE that on February 25, 2025, Berwick Town Council approved a motion to enter into a development agreement with ​​3264285 Nova Scotia Limited regarding lands on Lot 1-AC Commercial Street (PID 55240048) to construct 120 residential units.

Pursuant to Section 247 and Section 249 of the Municipal Government Act, an aggrieved person, the Director of Planning, or an adjoining Municipality may appeal Council’s decision to the Nova Scotia Utility and Review Board within fourteen (14) days from the date of this publication.  Inquiries respecting the appeal procedure can be made to the NSUARB at www.nsuarb.novascotia.ca or by calling 902-424-4448.
