⚠️ Planned Power Outage Notice ⚠️

The Berwick Electric Commission would like to advise customers of two planned power outages affecting all BEC customers:

🔌 Wednesday, June 3rd
Approximately 11:00 PM
⏱️ Expected duration: 15 minutes

🔌 Sunday, June 7th
Between approximately 6:30 AM and 7:30 AM
⏱️ Expected duration: 15 minutes

These outages are required for Nova Scotia Power to complete upgrades to the local transmission system.

• The first outage will prepare the system for the upgrades.
• The second outage will restore the system once the upgrades are complete.

We appreciate your patience and understanding as this important infrastructure work is completed. Please plan accordingly for any devices or equipment that may be affected by temporary power interruptions.

Municipal Special Election

NOTICE OF POLL

The Town of Berwick’s Special Election will be held on Saturday, June 20, 2026.

Electors may begin voting by internet or telephone at noon on Thursday, June 11th until 7:00 pm on Saturday, June 20th.   Voter instruction letters will be mailed to electors on the electoral list before the commencement of the voting period. In-person voting will be at Town Hall, 236 Commercial Street, Berwick, during regular office hours beginning at noon on June 11th and from 8 am – 7 pm on Saturday, June 20th

Traffic Notice Road Work on Commercial Street

Traffic Notice – Commercial Street Paving
Please be advised that paving work will take place on Commercial Street this Wednesday and Thursday. During this time, Commercial Street will be reduced to one lane of traffic from Grandview Manor to Orchard Street. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route whenever possible.
We appreciate your patience and cooperation as we work to improve our roads.

Brush pickup is now complete.

Community Park in the Park

Our community is made up of people from around the world who have chosen to live, work, and play right here in the Town of Berwick!

This weekend, we’re hosting an outdoor event to celebrate and showcase the many cultures that make Berwick so special.

Join us on Saturday, May 16th from 1–3 PM at Centennial Park for an afternoon of music, food, and fun. Enjoy live music from SoulWave and great food from local vendors including BASH Catering, Smooshies Ice Cream Sandwiches, Valley Bubble Tea, and KSweetsVille Treats. Kids can also enjoy bounce castles and entertainment from Nova Bounce.

Everyone is welcome, and entry to the celebration is FREE (food vendors will have items available for purchase).

Bring a chair or a blanket and come spend the afternoon with us!
